[Guest post by AngelHack Singapore Ambassador, Aaron (@aaron01437).]

The 2015 Singapore edition of AngelHack’s Eighth Global Hackathon Series took place May 9-10 and had 60 participants take part in our 24-hour hackathon event with about 13 projects submitted.

Most of the teams were already formed prior to the event. It could possibly be due to the fact that many of them were classmates or from a close community of developers.

The whole hacking experience was an intense exercise for sure, and most of the participants seized every chance to nap whenever they could. The 24 hours of hacking flew by very quickly and some teams were making use of every available space to rehearse their pitch.
Free food and drinks were provided throughout the hackathon to ensure that the awesome (and mostly younger) crowd remained focus on their hacks.

The event attracted locally-based sponsors like IBM (Bluemix), EPAM, The Hub Singapore and Redmart. And The Hub SG has been hosting us during the 2 days and we're glad that it’s been a great battleground for our hackers! Our hackers have been hacking in the meeting room, all the way to the couch, bean bags and floors.

The event really couldn’t have been a success without Redmart. They have been sponsoring us drinks and all the 6 meals throughout the event. We’re really honored to have them at the event. Their CTO Rajesh Lingappa gave us a talk on Redmart’s startup journey and how it becomes an ambitious technology company rather than just another e-commerce website.

And one of the highlights of the event? EPAM!

They have been a great sponsor to us and the hackers. Massage, video games, snacks, swags, drinks are just among the cream of the crop that they have been keeping all our hackers pumped!

Many thanks to the team members (Dorothy and Balazs) that flew all the way from Hong Kong to Singapore to support us and the hackers!
The 2-day event was fuelled with excitement and strong support from our sponsor IBM Bluemix! Justin was our great IBM technology evangelist that showed hackers how easy it is to deploy their projects onto the IBM Bluemix platform. The live demo and giveaways to our hackers were just some of  the great gems they brought us!

A total of 13 ideas were submitted, and here are a few interesting ones among other cool projects.
