Wow. A packed house, attendees coming from as far as Macedonia, Thailand and Indonesia, all to compete in MasterCard’s Masters of Code. The talent amongst the 30 teams competing at 237.io was mind-blowing. And with any competition, comes a winner.

Before we get to the team who will join Cointr from Sydney, MasterYourCard from Hong Kong, and the rest of the winning teams from each region in the Grand Finale to compete, lets meet the runner-up team.

You’re sitting at home, hungry. You pull up mealtome.com and see a map of your neighborhood that shows you what your neighbors are cooking. Once you find the meal that satisfies your craving, you click purchase and BAM. Delicious home-cooked meal, made by that friendly neighbor you hadn’t had the chance to meet yet.

Meal To Me impressed the judges, but the team who walked away with first place was:

The team: Gwen Yi Wong, Jay Ching Lim, Kean Ho Chew, Daniel Fung Hsing Lim, and Leondardy Kristianto.

They really took MasterCard’s Masters of Code: Singapore’s theme and created something special, using multiple MasterCard APIs. Their mission: debugging inclusion for women in tech.

So what’d this team do to snag that coveted crown?

They charged up on caffeine and combined their brainpower to create an awesome platform to give women in Southeast Asia an easier way to understand the magic of technology. By building a platform with “addictive, no-BS, coding-centric games, we hope to simultaneously demolish women’s limiting beliefs AND pique their interest to take ONE SMALL STEP in the right direction - technology education.”

That my friends, is a competition-winning project.
